Jazz Band gig at a fashion show

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys. Haven't posted here in a long time. But I have to share this with you. My jazz bands playing at a fashion show tonight. This is defently going to be one of the most unique gigs I've ever or prob will ever play for. Should be loads of fun though. They wanted a 30's feel to the music. So we choose a few tunes that I belive are close to the period. My wife watches alot of those modeling tv shows. All i ever really hear is techno playing in the background. I wouldnt say this is a gig gone wrong YET. A few things with setting up last night got me a little aggervated. But it was late, and i was tierd. I hope this brings in bands at the resturant becasue its very upscale compared to the other resurants. Ill let ya guys know how it goes. Anyone else play a gig like this?

Play whatever. Just make sure you report on the scenery.

Remember - no pix, no fashion-show gig.

Well ill try to get pics. I can't play and takes pics at the same time. But I do have a friend coming whos taken pics for us before. So as long as they arent weird about it. I belive the show is for gowns. So yeah should be good scenery, esp since the wifey wont be there to yell at me for looking at models to much, and not enough at my music Set list is kinda hip too. All ballads though. Baubles, bangels and beads, autumn leaves, loveman, my funny valentine, when i fall in love, cry me a river, our day will come. The only negative thing, and ive seen this come up before in other threads. Not much planning on where to put us. Wer're kinda in a crampt corner right by the stage. We got 6 members drums, bass, guitar, piano, sax and singer. Room ended up being smaller then we thought. I feel sorry for the table next to us. No matter how soft we play, it will be too loud to them.
