If you frequently find yourself playing more notes than your guitarist, fire the bum. What's the point of having a guitarist if you can't make him play all the complicated parts?
Bands that play quietly are nice. You don't have to carry as much gear to be loud enough.
You shouldn't have to play solos or jump around the stage to get attention. You should just look good and get all the attention you want that way.
Things like verses and intros aren't always important enough for you to play them. Let the other instruments deal with those.
Pedal tones are great. Pedal tones on open strings are even better. Rests are the best, though.

Buy a loop station, loop one riff, and stand there drinking for the rest of the song.

A cushion on it's top would be perfection |

Make sure to use the phrase "Man, this thing only gets ____ miles per gallon" to avoid any suspicion.

(and if you can avoid that annoying top G string, all the better)

or
Never drop tune. If there's a note that's too low, don't play it.
