Generally the wife and I get along fine (hey, I made sure before we got married...go figure!). Bands usually have a lot more headaches to deal with.

The band(s) has always been a larger source of aggravation since I can always talk things out with the woman. Some band members fail to remain clear headed and focused turning themselves into disoriented egomaniacs thinking they ARE the band or they forget why we formed the band in the first place.

Seeing as my (soon to be ex) wife badgered me to quit my last (very excellent and well-behaved) band:

The (soon to be ex) wife.

the (ex) girlfriends, I've never been in a band where my gear purchasing was questioned. I've never had a band pressure me to quit so i can spend more time with the g/f. but I have delt with the opposite.

Try having the one you don't want (soon-to-be-ex-wife) still in the house, and not having the one you want, a gig. I think that might just be a bit worse...

I usually get along with both, but I've had disagreements with the band and never any with the girlfriend, so...

Agreed. Being in a "casual" band doesn't give you the headaches being in a "casual" relationship does, generally.

Plus, anyone ever got nasty little bumps down below from playing bass? God no.

My girlfriend, for sure.

Girlfriend: 'Hey, listen to this song, the bassist's playing some cool harmonics...'
Band: 'Can you turn down the bass a bit?'

I rest my case...

I have never had much trouble with any of them... neither my wife nor my current band... I think one of the reasons is because my wife is our lead singer... (I arrived later on the band)

But, looking back, bands have given me more trouble.. always
