I do lick the battery. It does work.

I did find out some years back why they say on the battery "Do not carry loose in pocket", though. I had forgotten and dropped one in my pocket while I was carrying something and hopped in the car and took off. a few minutes later I felt a burning sensation on my leg. I suddenly remembered and started digging in my pocket. The thing was red hot and I couldn't really grab it. I just kind of flipped it out of my pocket and out the car window all while driving down the highway. Needless to say, I have NEVER carried a 9v in my pocket since.

oh god, now i have to go lick a 9v after hearing about this lmao... this will be interesting...
Its not so much a "lick", its more like, plant your tongue on the electrodes and see how it feels. Give it time for the pain (er, I mean the tingle) to develop.
