A little different Sunday Show
Sunday afternoon show was a bit...ah... different.
Got a call right when I was leaving (2 hr drive to the venue), singer was sick, wanted me to cover.
So I had to grab enough gear to make a sound system and squeeze it in an already loaded truck.
My son followed me out (he was on drums all weekend) and we got everything set up and working.
Actually faster than setting up the band's system, because I PACK MY FREAKIN' WIRES PROPERLY.
(Sorry, that a long-standing sore point)
She had notified the venue, but not the gtr player.
Good call actually, I didn't call him, either.
He's a nice fella but can get worked up about stuff, and would have got worked up about it by the time he got there.
So we figured out a list of tunes to use between the 3 of us.
It was a little chilly and overcast. Turnout wasn't great, but OK. (Outdoors show)
We kept the people that were there the whole time, got 'em warmed up and enthusiastic till the end,
and kept the venue owner happy.
Surprised the hell outta the guitar player, he'd never worked with me being a front man.
We got paid, (split 3 ways instead of 4 it wasn't too shabby) and made our way home.
Now I gotta figure out what I'll say to the BL when she asks.
Here's the crucial stuff:
I played my 6er, and it doesn't have a tort.....
BBE 383 pre into 1 side of a Crown CE1000 driving an old Ampeg 4x10
had to roll off the 60hz a bit to prevent farting.
I run my mids high, no tweeter in the 4x10.
We played covers, and didn't do Freebird, but did do 3 steps....
I got a couple solos :hyper:
SM57 on vox
Glad it worked out well!
