Local cover band mashup show!

I'm part of a local cover band in my area, but, as in any other big towns (Columbus here) there are several known cover bands. Thankfully, we all get along pretty well. In fact, coming up later this month, we're doing a "mashup" show, where band members who participate are placed with members of other bands, and are then given a band/ artist to cover 3-4 songs of. I'm pretty excited, as normally, cover bands don't get a ton of time to hang with each other, and this seems like it'll be really fun, and will be a cool way to left off some steam.

The artists being covered are: U2, The Police, SRV/Blues, Pearl Jam, Journey, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi and (my band) Bob Marley.

It seems they placed people in bands playing music they wouldn't normally play. Personally, I don't play or listen to much Reggae, but that may change. Just listening to a couple songs, and I'm listening closer, and enjoying it more than I have.

All in all, I think it's a very cool idea. Anyone else done something like this?

We've done a toys for tots benefit the last couple of years, with maybe 7 local cover bands. Usually at the end of the night there's a big old revolving cluster jam. It's a blast!

Sounds like you're in for a heck of a good time.
