All you gigging guys will hate me for this. I learned about 4 books worth of just progressive classical pieces. I played a rehearsal, a wedding, and the reception solo. The polyphony became amazing by the end of the night, but got out to a rough start. Luckily the wedding songs were easy.. I think it came to about 6 hours when it was all said and done.

If you don't mind a few awkward sections, I highly recommend this type of gig if you need cash and a few good leads!

Can't remember. Maybe a couple of hours? At one time, that is. Longest gig was around five hours, I think. No, wait, I remember football parties when we had to play a set before the game, then sit through the game and then play a couple of hours afterwards (yuck!). So, maybe 6-7 hours, but it wasn't all playing, though.

I played a 5 hour set with one 15 minute break for a bunch of drunk scumbag losers being really rotten to us...until we played Free Bird...7 times over the course of the show...3 times CONSECUTIVELY.

I have hated that song ever since. Especially since the drunks started throwing things at us when we stopped playing the first round of Free Bird, like an old car battery that knocked over my drummer's cymbal stand. We woulda pummeled that slimeball if it werent for the fact that there were many more of them than us. These were the kinda people that the only numbers they could relate to were "Chevy 350" and "6 pak"

ugh.....bad memories....
