Loooong night.

So i played a big jazz gig with my jazz band last night.
200 people, 2 hours of solid playing, and free booze. my kinda night.

yeah, its awesome when you rock out so much you bleed. it was a freakin sweet night.

We did alot of covers that we arranged ourselves, and the crowd loved them!

heres a couple of pics from the night.

and here's a video of us playing 'Patricia The Stripper' by Chris de Burgh with my girlfriend on vocals. sorry the end cuts off... its the best part!

its easiest just to hit the 'download' button on that page rather than let it load in the player.

Looks good.

And I agree, two hour sets are a bit much. I like keeping sets to an hour max.

That's why I don't play upright. Just did a 1 1/2 hour set on bass guitar. Fingers aren't even tired.

see, if we were doing a long set with slow tunes, it wouldnt have been so bad... but these were all fast swing, bebop and pop tunes. luckily i can take a break for a few weeks!

wow thats a lot of damage after 2 hours... i have in the past played 6 nights in a row 4 hours a night with no damage to my fingers.. of course I have learned over the years to really lighten my touch as to not destroy myself... just different styles

like i said... we played all hard, fast swing tunes for the dancers. i've been playing for 9 years, so light touch has come, but still. ouch.

i'm healed now, a week later!
