We have never met before, and got in touch through a Norwegian guitar forum. The intention is to play blues and rock together. Ambitions are low, with max once a week rehearsals, since we're all family fathers with daytime jobs. I really hope it works out.

I wish you all the best, it might "click" at your first eeting, but if it doesn't look out for the inevitable compromises.

I am just beginning to realize that the hard practice I went through leading to our gig actually resulted in my left hand fingers becoming stronger (and thicker). I can really feel this. Is this just me, or have any of you found out his happens??

Wouldn't be something I would have thought of, but...

Loooooooooong time lurker, been ages since I posted on the forums in general. Trying to keep online time to a dull roar as it cuts into bass practice. :-) Anywhoo, love reading all your stories and I can definitely relate. See if this CV qualifies me for a number--Been "playing bass" since '06 but not actually doing anything constructive with it until this last year; can sort of read sheet music (what training I retained from my band geek days on trombone), actually struggle MORE with tab, canNOT for the life of me get consistent, solid slap tone, and haven't (can't!) venture too far out of the root-fifth-octave box. But I CAN read a chord chart and have decent timing and rhythm, enough to keep the bass chair at my church!
So why did I post here first, instead of over at the Praise & Worship Bassists thread? Because my worship leader reminded me how MEDIOCRE I am by throwing an Israel & New Breed track into the setlist today. Terrance Palmer, I most definitely am NOT.
Can I come hang?
At any rate, have a great day, folks!

Gigging band requires guitarist. Must be willing to take all direction from bass guitarist. Must refuse to noodle between songs or wank excessively. Must have no life or other commitments. Absolutely must have good personal hygiene and not have a cooler hat than the bassist.
Interested? Please grovel to the following email address: bassgod@somesuchaddress.com
I'm convinced that you'll find a new guitarist -- although maybe not with my ad!
