I think world music is most things outside of western music (i.e. ethnic music from places like africa, the middle east, the far east like china, etc.).

If this guy has really had to deal with a lot of bad bassists, I guess he has a good reason to say what he does. If only he wouldn't contradict himself in his own ad, though, I would have more respect for him.

Yea, I tried out for a bunch of bands and they all told me it was amazing how bad some of the other bassists were compared to me. Not trying to blow my horn, because I don't think I'm that good.

lol, best one was when the drummer told me a guy in his 40s showed up, plugged in, and turned every knob on the amp up to max volume. The cab points directly at the drummer.

By reading that ad, and myself being from that area I get this take....

Guitarist and drummer who jam endlessly without any regard for key, timing, or structure seeking to frustrate bass player with quirky originals that aren't nearly as good as we think they are.

Phrases like: must be professional, and make a name for yourself are laughable in this context.

Anyway, I'm sure someone will flame me now for making fun of poeple who use the word professional.

Keep it light - it is the humor forum.

I can't tell you how many times I would try to play with a guitarist starting out and ask them for a key or some chords, and they would be like "just play man, that's what I do"....yeah sure but lets turn down, and I'll wear earmuffs over my earplugs....I thought I couldn't play for the longest time just because so many guitarists are stooooooopid.

That is exactly why I made that comment. I've played with more than one guy liek that. Once I had a guitarists I was playing with for a couple of weeks introduce one of his originals. He literally shredded a guitar solo for 3 minutes and expected me to just follow. Like you said, um....how 'bout a key there buddy!

This one is from today. What's a "420" ?

Starting Wings/Red Hot Chili Peppers Tribute Band (Retardville)

I can play most of Linda's keyboard lines and most of Flea's bass licks...all I need are players who can do the other parts.
Wings and Chili Peppers are my two all-time favorite bands, and I think it would be rad to form a tribute band which plays songs from both bands!...you know, to give the audience a little variation...maybe like a Chili Peppers song followed by a Wings song kind of approach...or perhaps it's best to play a small set of Peppers songs, and then a small set of Wings songs - I'm open to suggestions.
No alcohol or drugs, but 420 OK.
Must have pro gear and a pro attitude! - and be able to practice 6 nights a week.
Must own a car made in 2005, or newer.
Must be between the ages of 5 1/2 and 47 3/4.
Also, must be a christian.
Hit me up dude!
Peps rule!
Peace out

I guess I'm just old. We used to just call it weed, grass, or pot. Never assigned a number to it!!

Thanks.
