Just a taster of Irish countryside (Taken when I was around 15 this photo!)

Thats from Cuilcagh mountain, very close to Marble Arch caves and Cladagh Glen. My home county is absolutely beautiful
Goodness, it certainly is!!! Gorgeous country!!! Oh, how lovely to walk around in a place like that all day!!!

I used to like Jack, but then I was given good bourbon, so now I know better. LOL!

A Chicago Irish friend of ours brought something nice to the jam after he got back from visting his parents for St. Pat's. A bottle of Michael Collins Irish whiskey. Nice stuff!!! Very smooth, with a finish that can only be described as "creamy without being creamy".

Liked it so well, I may buy a bottle for the house bar.

I think it's a little stupid (scratch that, VERY stupid), to have an official alcoholic drink for bass players. Seems like you have quite the ego if you think that.

I mainly stick to scotch when drinking (alcohol) at a gig. Or pretty much just whiskey in general.

Relax. Its a humor thread in an onlne bass forum. If you think its stupid, then...you know...engage in a thread you find to be more edifying. That's what I do when I read threads I find to be stupid.

I don't drink alcohol....I prefer caffeine

Faster bass lines. I play best after 3 or 4 cans of Monster Lo-Carb.

I know a guy who went into convulsions and had to be hospitalized after drinking that much energy drink. You might want to cut back a bit if you're habitually downing that much.

[quote=txbasschik;7160960]Vodka *needs* fruit juice, for The Fruit Of The Fermented Potato is nasty without it.

There are 2 kinds of vodka, both wheat and potato. Quite frankly the potato one lacks, uh, everything, stick with the wheat types, Russian, Ukrainian, Swedish and you won't need any additions. Just ice cold and straight....

AMF FTW!

I love those things. But I would never drink one before a show...

I usually stick to non-alcoholic stuff. For some reason, even a little alcohol can throw me off. I play best and most loosely when sober and well-hydrated with water.

My favorite post-drink show, however, is a well-made screwdriver. Grey Goose and Odwalla on the rocks =

Ketel One is great, too. But Smirnoff... ugh. If you're going to go cheap, cranberry juice is the ideal mix-in so you don't spit out your drink. Orange juice only settles well with the best vodkas.

Black and Tan with Anchor Steam on the bottom instead of Bass. Or just a regular black and tan.

[quote=rtav;7075551]Hey!

I was talking with a keyboardist (yeah, I know) who was giving me grief because when I drink (which isn't often!) I prefer to drink Jack Daniels straight. The keyboardist had different tastes (you can imagine) and wanted to know why I drink Jack...

I said, "I'm a BASS player... what should I drink? Pink Champale? That's for keyboardists and singers."

Well, hon...enjoy that. I'll have a shot o' bourbon.

I never have been a big vodka fan. Just not a fan of the white liquors, much.

yano, it depends on the gig, for me at least. If I know i'm gonna be busy holding the whole band together (which is quite common) i feel that those 5hr energy drinks seem to do the trick, keeps my blood flowin, makes me so hyper that it appears i'm having fun and gives me EXTREME playability.

but on those other nights.. usually just a bacardi and coke
