The coiled bass cord got me also. I had a Giant Sunn Cab with two 18's. It was on rollers and everwhere I went, it went. I tried turning it on its side but it vibrated and followed me around again. I started tying it down with rope.

Pklima, I trust you don't write the lyrics for your band. LOL

When I was in high school (a Catholic high school at that) my band played Bodies by Drowning Pool and not only was I tuned a step too high but our guitarist's amp was hidden behind a curtain. At least my thunderbird received some praise.

This is the Kustom 150 Bass Amp that used to follow me around the stage.

I have one in silver, and they are heavy! I cant imagine how the cord never came when pulling the amp.

THAT

No excuse in my book for a perfectly good bassist to do that. Thankfully the bassist I knew that did that (in an effort to sound like that over-produced crap on the radio) ditched the synth bass altogether, THANK GOD!!!

I ditto, Michael Anthony doing a bass solo, an inexcusable abomination for sure!

Tony Levin does it on tour with Peter Gabriel. For a gig like that, I would too.

Here's one I did. We did a heavy song in 7/4 where the bass didn't come in for the first two measures but the guitars were playing some heavy quarter note chords. We worked up a thing where I would pick up a drum stick and hit the crash on every quarter note, and then just before I hit my first note, I would flip the drumstick into the crowd for someone to catch.

Well, it came time. It was one of our biggest shows (we ended up bringing 50 people that night, made $150 on tickets and $190 on merch, in addition to the other people the 4 other bands brought), I was really rocking out and slamming on the crash, everybody was having a blast.

Well, I guess the adrenaline got to pumping, I threw the drumstick a little hard, and instead of flipping my wrist up to spin it upwards, I let go early right as it was level. One of my friends in the audience told me it flew straight and nailed some dude in the head, who picked it up and went back to headbanging.

We apologized and then posted an offer on Facebook for free tickets and merch to the guy or anybody who told us who he was so we could contact him. He never came forward.

Nate Watts does it for Stevie Wonder too. A lot of Funk songs need synth bass to sound right. I would be a little annoyed at a band playing 'You Dropped a Bomb On Me' without it.

I literally fell off stage once. That was pretty embarrassing, but I managed to keep playing through the song! I also lost a string in the middle of covering Sweet Leaf. I managed to make it through the song with the remaining 3 strings, but there were definitely a few 'jazz' notes here and there

I actually have full intention to do that sometime in my band! I figure if JMJ from Nine Inch Nails can do it and make it awesome then maybe I have a shot, too! Why limit sounds or creativity, you know?

I still use the same coiled cord and amp with casters that I had in the '80s, I put a thick rug under my amp to keep it from moving around the stage. Now that I think about it though, I think carrying around a piece of carpet to all your shows is probably just as pitiful as having your amp follow you.

I brain farted on the intro to Down On The Corner once... Completely forgot it... Lead singer came over and sang it into my ear. I started it and played it flawlessly after that, but we laughed about that one for a LONG time. I don't think the audience knew, just thought we decided to do last second. It was the closing song.

After arguing about the soundman being a btech tool,

"your worried about a DI? the drums are behind the amp and my amp is lounder than the PA!?"

anywho tuned up, and sound checked.. went to start the song then as soon as i popped the G the straplock ripped out of the wood, luckily i grabbed the strap but unfortunatly jabbed the lead guitarist in the ribs and in the swing back hit the rhythm guitarist in the back of the headstock, knocking him completely out of tune.

an almost entirely polish audience (who had come to see the main event) laughed at us.

i got the last laugh though, the band was a bunch of 20 Yo's playing MOR Rock about atlantis and other powerfull metaphors.

maybe i shouldnt have pointed and laughed though.

Awwwww, he's such a little CUTEE!

Seriously - paint a smiley face on the front and let it follow you around. Maybe staple a fuzzy tail on the back side.
