Most popular bass cliches

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking language, not musical sequences...

I just read a post in the Basses forum that included the deathless phrase "plays like butter". THAT has to be one of the worst cliches around when it comes to basses or guitars.

What are your faves?

This isnt really a phrase but more on equipment. 8x10's, cant stand them. And what's really sad is I own one. The only reason I own it is it's got enough headroom in it's power rating that I will probably never blow it up with 500watts that I have been using for a while now. But what I do like is a 2x15 stack, always been a fan of 15's for lows and 12's for rippin' mids.

I always smile when I hear "built like a tank."

You mean it requires near-constant attention from a team of mechanics and highly-trained electronics specialists?
