i just freak out when i hear a great bassline, i have my songs that i love just for the bassline, and my usual geeky moments of showing someone a song i love and pointing out all the little things the artist did, like overdubs, lines in stereo, or when the bassline does something cool. takes me about 20 minutes to get through a 3 minute song.

i analyzed one of my friend's favorite song (at the time) because they wanted my opinion of it and they say that the song now is too boring for them to listen to because of how in depth my analysis was.

yep. done that.
in fact, my ex girlfriend now gauges a band based upon the skill of the bassplayer, because of the fact that i dissected so much music for her. it's awesome!!

I bass this entirely on how visually upset I get when people "can't hear the bass, of why it's so awesome" in various songs...

It takes me month to get through one album because I always find a favorite, listen to it repeatedly then move on to the next, and the next - find it to be just as awesome, listen to it over and over again, etc.

*repeat for every song that comes on the radio. ever.*

**double that if you're a ska band**

every moment of every day of my life.

the worst is when I am in public with all my fellow music geeks. harmonizing glasses at restaurants, singing obscure chords for fun, etc.

I'm recognizing myself in all posts above. Guess I'm a real music geek

Sometimes when I'm out with my workmates somewhere and suddenly a song I like is played in the background, my attention is quickly on the music instead of my friends.

My workmates don't allow me to play any jazz, funk or soul as background music, but they don't care I'm not really fond of the music played on NRJ (radio channel). I must use headphones if I want to listen to stuff I like. Slightly irritating...

my friends have realized that if music is playing weather i like it or not ill miss the conversation until i have listened through to the chorus and analyzed the song. once they took advantage of this and talked about me ,behind my back yet in front of my face, and i missed all of it

harmonizing glasses at restaurants
We make music wherever we can. One small bottle, one big, a can of beer and a pair chop-sticks - and whoa we`re trio!
Is making a percussion set out of literaly everything counts?

...how bout picking out the intervals for any random sound you hear throughout the day and letting whoever around you know, that you know that the fridge hums a minor 2nd against the Air Conditioner.
