Last night I had a dream that someone stole my Stingray.
I brought it to Walmart to play a culturally themed gig of some sort because I was in my Oklahoma Scottish Pipes and Drums uniform. I left it at the front counter while I went and saw one of my friends perform with his Native drum corps (I even sat in for a song). When I got back to the counter someone was running out the door with my bass. I caught up to him, tackled him and broke his neck (sorry kids this one is rated PG-13). I then realized that it was a ploy and the bass wasn't even in the case. I ran back inside and searched all over the store. Then the guy at customer service said that before I killed that guy he said he was going downtown to meet the "Dollar Store Man." I dropped to my knees (case still in hand) and screamed.
I woke up with my heart pounding and a tear in my eye (no lies). I immediately got out of bed to check and see if she was still there. She slept soundly in her case, unmolested.
Now, share YOUR Musician's Nightmare if you've had one! |

Someone had entered my bedroom and was in the process of stealing my Gibson Grabber. So I remember getting up very quietly, grabbing a spare jazz neck, and I cracked his skull with the jazz bass neck. Strange dream, because I'm not a violent guy at all.

My rig was near the front of stage with my cab on top of a PA sub (weird to begin with). My cable wasn't long enough so decided to start moving gear. My amp and cab fell face down onto the ground. So I move my amp to the back of the stage, closer to where I was positioned and go to grab my cab and it's gone!!
I start searching everywhere - through this massive crowd (it seemed like a festival or something) and no sign of it. So I decide I'll just run through the PA. Go to grab my Bongo 5 and it's turned into a Bongo 4. Frantically searching for my bass, I can't find it. So I start looking for another 5 - there just happened to be racks of basses around the stage and nothing there except for 4 string Ashbory basses (you know those little ones).
Then people started leaving and I woke up a little freaked out!

I was so disappointed. |

The band didn't seem to care or even really notice me. I plugged in and we started playing the first song and the bartender got P.O.'d because I in my underwear. The waitresses were giving me dirty looks and some of the guys in the crowd were yelling and looking hostile. I tried to wake myself up but I couldn't! Then the police showed up and arrested me for Indecent Exposure, took me to jail, and booked me. Man, I wish that had actually just been a bad dream!

Never happened, though, fortunately.

No wait, That was Peter Frampton's nightmare. Mine has to do with bunnies.
