My daughter made her debut this weekend.

She just turned 17 and has been playing drums for about 1 1/2 years.
Well she decided she wanted to sit in on my gig.
She's never been in a band nor ever played in front of people.
She had worked on "Roadrunner" (Bo Diddly)and in front of 85 or so people she nailed it! Steady ,didn't rush it and hit all the accents.
I've never been so proud than to be playing with my daughter.
Afterwards she got severail comments on her playing and age.
I think I've got a monster on my hands.
I just wanted to share the link.

Hey, that is awesome. I know you're proud.

My daughter isn't quite nine yrs old, but I'm trying to get her interested in playing an instrument. Hope to get her into school band in a few years playing trumpet, flute, or whatever instrument she wants to try in that context, and I can teach her some guitar and bass if she gets interested in that.

Hi.

Congrats. I can imagine that You're proud of her. IMO nothing beats a good parental guidance when it comes to playing and performing.

I just wish that I would've had that same lucky situation, my mom forced me to take piano lessons when I was young and the result:
A HAIRY BASSPLAYER

Take care.

I'm sorry. I know this isn't OT.

Anyway, Congrats on the gig, man. I hope my kids (when I have some) take an active interest in music.

The absolute best drummer I've ever performed with is a female. She's in her forties and has been playing since she was about 8 years old. She's just a good, steady, buttkickin, rock and roll drummer.

I always try to get my dad to jam with me, but he never seems up to sit back down at his old drum set.

Maybe one day.
