Ok so, my friend keegan (thats awesome at guitar) allways makes fun of me because i switched from guitar to bass recently, he says its because its "easier". My reasons are:
1:I can pick up a bass and actually have fun playing
2:I have a very agressive playing style that rattles the strings on a guitar that my bass can actually handles
3:Strings on a guitar are far to close for my liking
4: I just enjoy the sound of bass!
What should I do here!?!?

No big deal really - if he's acting like a punk hang out w/ someone else. Is his opinion on why you play bass really that important? |

I'm the only dedicated bassist out of my entire circle of musicians. Looks really cool, maybe for a solo, but doesn't fly for a bassline, haha.
This is what you do: Next time he makes fun of you, cry, that'll show him. I ended up hurting myself really bad (stabbed my hand) as they made fun of me for playing bass, and I started to tear up, holding my hand, all they saw that I was crying so they never made fun of me again. It's a -10 on the manly scale, but it works like hell. |

anyway, just tell the guy that you don't wanna hear his crap. you chose to play bass because it's what you feel, not because its what you should play.
anyway, being in a band is f'ing cool, you're far more likely to find one now that you're a bass player, while he'll be twiddling in his bedroom waiting for a band to need a new guitarist!
