Talking my tuner pedal rescued me!

Sign in to disble this ad
my band has been jamming with this keyboard player who has an issue memorizing the chords and changes for our original song, not a big deal he has only heard them twice.

so anyway i was getting tired of speaking out the chord names and stuff every time... then i had a brain wave! i just turned the tuner pedal on and set it so that it wasnt muting while tracking my notes.
i just started playing roots and asked the dumass to follow the letters popping on my tuner pedal

whenever i wanted to reck his brains i out i started playing other notes hahahaha

That's pretty funny. Now I just hope he knows which are minor and which are major!

I doubt that lol. If he`s not good enough to hear roots then I highly doubt he can hear the differences in major and minor.

not to be mean, but you must play some slow boring bass lines.. Or you have some super awesome tuner that I've never seen.

In the OP's defense, my tuner pedal (Korg pedal) can keep up unless I"m doing 16'th notes.

And he also said "i just started playing roots"-which means he wasn't playing his actual part. It's just a way to give the keyboardist a leg up on the chords until the guy has heard the original song more than twice. Actually, it's a pretty darn good idea..... now we need to come up with something that'll show what chords the guitarist is doing and put it on stage at jams...

..could you not just give the poor fellow a chord sheet rather than making him watch your pedal as he plays when you're calling him names on the internet?

well, I wouldn't say the pedal "rescued you" as you were only playing roots and weren't really rehearsing how your part fit into the rest of the band.

Don't just tell him the chords - write that down. And roots mean nothing (maj/min - 2nd? 7th?)
