When I worked on racecars...the driver/owner/engine builder and his bro. were cousins to the guys in the Marshall Tucker band.

I once stood in line to go to the port-a-john at Atlanta Motor Speedway with Phil Parsons.

I grew up down the street from Dan Gurney, I used to play with his kids.

My last band included East Bay Ray on guitar. After he left to go on a DK's reunion tour around South America, we had a few other guitarists but then eventually settled on Bill Spooner from the Tubes. Also our bari sax player was Ward Abronski of Polkacide and Flipper.

I filled in for Pat Boone's backing band when I was 18....about 30 years ago. He said four simple words to me on the way to the stage..."Don't f*** up kid."

....oh yeah, and I sat next to Sinbad on a plane one time. He asked me what I was reading...told him I was editing a book about CERN and high energy physics for a friend. He said, "cool", and then fell asleep.

Didn't James Brown write a song about him?

I saw Bono in an airport. But I didn't play bass yet, and I was pretty young, but it counts!

Not quite. We were a large band of aging misfits, most of whom were wild when younger but now had mortgages, kids, liver problems, other bands that also needed them, etc. and we could never quite get it together. Whenever we went to record some material, at least one member of the band couldn't make it due to a conflicting obligation, and we didn't have the money to track individually. We hired videographers a couple of times, but it never really worked out.
You can check out our old-skool website though: http://www.sfburlesque.com/index.htm

We once played at a party (I think it was '95) where the guest of honor was the then Attorney General, Janet Reno. Not exactly the "big time", is it?!

Prince pushed in front of me in the security line at Minneapolis St Paul airport, with his 2 burly minders. I thought he was small skinny kid.

My old band opened up for Rose Hill Drive in Sept 2006 at a club in Philly. For those who may not know Rose Hill Drive....it's only a matter of time before you do. The guys are only 22 or 23 years old and they've already toured with Van Halen, Wilco, QOTSA, Gov't Mule and many others...not to mention being hand picked by Pete Townsend to open for The Who during their last world tour! Check them out at www.rosehilldrive.com

I cleaned house for a woman who babysat the Judds, got to meet Naomi, Wynona, and Ashley, helped carry a TV into the former babysitter's house, when I lived in Ashland, KY.

Also, my dad knew Billy Ray Cyrus as a kid in Flatwoods, down the street (more or less) from Ashland, hung out with his folks.

I've met a bunch of professional wrestlers my dad was friends with when he was a ring announcer for the NWA, a local wrestling show in Charlotte, NC, long before the WCW/WWF/WWE thing happened.
