This popped up the local craigslist and I wanted to see what you guys thought. He seems pretty unprofessional for a professional

Dont let Hitplayback (kenny) the bass player waste your time

Definitely a diva. On a chick it's annoying but excusably if they are awesome and ...a-hem... good looking. But a guy? don't think so. It comes across as snobby and more than likely and he's a pain in the a**. But I do sort of get his take on being pro enough to not need hours and hours of practicing on covers. That should be woodshedded prior to rehearsal. By the way, if he is so incredibly awesome, he wouldn't be trolling craigslist for work.

rofl!

Some tell-tale signs of a Douchey McDouchebag...

There is a scene in Hollywood Shuffle of a new actor telling the producers that he graduated from xyz College and he thought he would hit Hollywood and be in some movies...

86 this guy.

"If you think that I am good enough then, I will discuss my rate."

"I also would not rehearse with the band until after gigging with the band for at least a month. I do not need to NOT get paid for my time."

"I am a professional Freelance Musician that doesn't need to spend 4 hours a week rehearsing with a band."

"I already paid over $50,000 in my education and over 20 years of Professional experience to not have to waste my time with people that are not prepared to give up respect."

imho both people in that exchange seem douchey imho

the bassist comes off as a pantload and the guy complaining about him comes off as childish and petty....

as for not rehearsing until after gigs....no problem if its a fill-in, but wouldn't you want a chance to hear everyone, feel out the drummer etc prior to jumping on stage? Mind you I didn't go to Juliard, or Berkley....or even Dave's School of Bass so *** do I know?

Making demands before you've proven yourself seems pretty silly to me. If the guitarist had seen him play before and really wanted to get him in the band, okay, I could see there being some conditions attached. But to me it's analogous to a kid applying for a job in the business world fresh out of school with no samples of previous work experience and then asking for a company car and an expense account before excepting the job.

This is why it's a good idea to copy the post... Surely I would have had an incredibly insightful reply that would have changed your world view for the better, and caused a chain reaction of events that would have eventually led you to run for the 2020 presidency, win, then achieve world peace, and also balance the budget. Now, we'll just have to face reality - the budget will never be balanced. Your children and your children's children will be horribly financially burdened forever because you didn't repost the Craigslist ad. Are you happy now?
