Need some help with this email.

Sign in to disble this ad
I get inquiries a few times a month regarding basses I have previously sold on TB, and the occasional request to keep the writer in mind if I ever decide to part with a particular bass.

I got an email today that I suspect is a scam, but I am unable to determine what that scam might be.

Pobably the most opaque communication I have ever received -

Good night

he/she would like to know if you could send me plants of against low in format 1:1, mainly of the JAZZ BASS, and if also you could send me project of amplifiers for against low
certain of the attention and answer at once thanks

I would send back an even more confusing message just to see if it generates another response. Conversations in gibberish can be a blast!

sounds like Babel Fish.
Low is probably the translation of "baixo" (name is Portuguese), which can mean low... but is also "bass".
Who knows what he/she really wants, 'though. It does not seem like a scam, just someone confused who does not speak English.
I get mesages through my site asking me prices and how to buy instruments I have pictures of... but I'm not a shop, I just have pictures of my guitars etc... some people seem confused. I would just press "ignore". Life's too short.

optional rebound email

IMPRESS THE BABES WITH THAT THROBIN' BOTTOM END!

Stop playing with yourself & get a good bass amp instead! You'll be so cool that chicks will finally dig you! Who needs talent? When you can just blow the people who think that your playing sucks right out of the room... WITH 150 WATTS of RAW POWER!!!

BUY MY 150 watt PEAVEY BASS AMP with BUILT IN CHORUS & I'LL GIVE YOU *2 FREE BASS LESSONS*!!!

Then you can...
- do shows (playing in rat infested dives)
- get free beer (people will throw bottles at your head)
- hot women will be all over (you'll catch crabs)
- & eventually... you'll even get paid (after expenses = $4)
- Woo-hoo! Ka-ching! Enough $$$ for discount baloney & crackers!

Mind you, having your own bass guitar is kind of a pre-requisite... Being mature (like I am), finished school &/or unemployed with lots of free time on your hands & available (ie: not having your nose chained to your girl friends butt) to practice, kind of helps to - So tell me all about you... what bands you're into & what your general goals are (besides waiting for the Doritos truck to accidentally drop off a shipment though your basement window)...

I have a bunch of chord changes typed out to help you along, *BUT* you must be willing to put in an hour or so personal practice every day by yourself (hey, what did you think? That that thing was gonna play itself?) Then you can start doing shows within a month... I'm serious, that's all it takes... -OR- if that's too much commitment for your bone-lazy nintendo-lovin' weed-stained brain, then... just learn a few tunes & jam with me whenever you can...

I've been playing for over 20 years & am into classic rock & some relatively recent stuff... Notice that there's no shreaders on that list? That's because I'm really not into anything heavier than Zeppelin (neither are bar owners!).

Oh yeah, about the amp, it's a...
PEAVEY TNT 150 WATT COMBO BASS AMPLIFIER
150 watts of babe-magnet power!

Guaranteed to rattle your neighbors nuts, freak out your goldfish & get you booted out of your apartment (but don't worry, you can always crash with all the groupies you'll pick up at gigs!!!)

Comes with these features:
- 15" BLACK WIDOW SPEAKER,
- 9 band graphic EQ (plus bass, treble & treble/punch boost),
- 2 (high & low) cross over outputs (shiftable),
- built in chorus effect (sounds really deep),
- about 2 feet wide, 2-1/2 feet high,

It's also good that this thing has wheels, 'cause this B-yatch is pretty damn heavy! The amp sounds great, but is waaaaay more than what I need, so I'm getting something smaller. So, just shell out $380 & you can start doing your very own "God of Thunder*" impersonation!

* If you're not from Cornwall, that was a "KISS" reference.

PS: don't ask me to trade for anything else...
I NEED MY D O P E MONEY NOW!!!

LOW BALL OFFERS WILL BE IGNORED!

ANYONE ASKING ME FOR THE PRICE -or- ASKING IF THE AMP IS STILL AVAILABLE... *WILL ALSO BE IGNORED!* BECAUSE THE PRICE IS CLEARLY MARKED! & IF THE AD IS STILL POSTED, THEN DUHHH! YES, THE AMP IS STILL AVAILABLE!!!

HINT:
SERIOUS BUYERS WOULD LEAVE A PHONE NUMBER & WHEN'S BEST TO REACH *YOU* (not your frigin machine!)

So what's the story with the dude selling this (awesome) amp?

I originally posted this add about a year ago (WAY BEFORE that snowblower ad guy). But seeing as I'm living near Cornwall & (how can I put this delicately) a good part of the populus here is either: illiterate (you think that I'm kidding, eh?) & doesn't have much of a sense of humour (partially due to the previous reason) -OR- would rather spend $380 on beer/dope/getting tattooed or trimming their mullets (you still think that I'm kidding, eh?)... I didn't get much in the way of serious responses...

-SO- encouraged by that snowblower ad, I'm giving mine another try... & Yes Ladies... I'm single : )

It's a 419 scam. Delete it or have fun with them.
