New Years a Here...Who has Gigs, and are you doing anything special?

Sign in to disble this ad
Title pretty much says it all.

Im playing the local 'biggish' venue and we have been asked to headline. Were dressing up as animals and fruit....you know as you do.

Anyone else got any 'special' shenanighans planned for NYE?

We are playing at a medium sized, older private club about 6 miles from my house. Decent pay but less than usual. Should be a nice group of people and low keyed, fun gig with no hassles.

In our band - that would be his option....we would send him pics of the show, with the guy who sat in for him.

No shows this year but do have a nice show booked on 1/1/2011....and a very busy month of January....so it's all good..

To those who are working on NYE...have a great time and be safe.

Will be playing a small gig with the singer/songwriter/guitarist/owner of a local studio. for $3 you can have a seat in a comfy atmosphere with a complimentary bowl of chilli and listen to some folksy acoustic music from us and perhaps some other locals who will probably drop in.

Same here, totally bummed about not getting to play this year. We played last NYE with our old drummer but this year his replacement won't play.

Playing at a NYE social outside the city. Biggish venue and lots of special guests. It should be a highly entertaining evening.

Playing at a decently-sized sports bar. I'm told close to 200 tickets were sold, but for the place I'm having a hard time believing it was that many....but hopefully!

We've got a gig at one of our regular venues. Champagne toast....buffet....all that Jazz. It should be a most excellent time. It's our band's second NYE but we didn't have a gig last year. 2010 was pretty good to us and we are psyched for our first NYE party! I'm using my new wireless.....first time I'm a free-range bassists.
I'm also bringing my brand new Squier VM Jazz as my half-step down bass!

Have a great night!

We're playing a wedding. Should be fun, built in audience ready to dance and party.

New Years is Lowest Common Denominator Night. Amateur drunks yelling for Proud Mary or Mustang Sally all night. Played em for 20 years, not one was satisfying. Am I being a geezer??

Put me on the list of people that despise NYE gigs but, yeah. I'm working. There won't be anything special going on, Typical NYE. Bar packed with amateurs that only drink once a year, don't know how to drink, don't know how to behave when they get drunk, don't know how to drive drunk, don't know how to get home safely without having to drive drunk...

Give me a bar full of professional drinkers anytime. You can keep amateur night.

Playing (drums) with my cover band at a Moose Lodge in a little fishing/beach community down on the Gulf. Should be either extremely boring, or extremely entertaining.

My band is playing in downtown Pittsburgh at The Steelhouse. I'm guessing for around 300 people in a medium-sized club. Craziness. The next night I have a date with a hottie.

Being in a band is good.
