No Pressure Here! (gig stories)

Tomorrow night, my band is playing at a private party hosted by the Lynott family. Some of you seasoned, experienced folks out there (kind euphemism for "older") may think that name sounds familiar.

It does.

Yes, these ARE the relatives of the late great Thin Lizzy bassist / vocalist Phil Lynott. His niece to be precise.

Now, I am lucky enough to not get nervous under pressure, and I'm not nervous for this gig either. That said, I did used to get nervous when I was first starting out. My main thing was that people would think I sucked and I was just not very good. Now, after performing for 23ish years and have over and over again confirmed that to be fact, it doesn't bother me anymore!

What makes you tense or nervous on stage, or what gigs have given you the heeby-jeebies?

PS. I did toy with doing TL's "Jailbreak" to honor Phil Lynott... But thought better of it. I'd probably just screw it up in a fabulously wicked way!

Do you mean to say you guys are not going to do even one Thin Lizzy song?

We don't really have that in our prepared repertoire. Plus, our main guitarist, who can do the Gary Moore style riffs, had another gig booked and can't make it.

Acoustic Highway is currently a six member band. Because this band evolved from a smaller three guitar trio / one bass vocal unit, we have a unique ability to adapt and stage a well rounded show even if one or two members can't make a gig. The vocals are what makes this band run. It's kind of cool.
