But I understand- I hate this- their usually P***ed , have NO time/ing etc......we just try & get 'em outta the way- 'the show must go on" is a good one...i.e. this "SHOW" is important(maybe add "we have a couple of 'promoters' in the audience" too) to the band & we're trying to put on a "pro" show so.......SORRY'
Or just a simple **** OFF!!!! ;-)

We tell him, thanks for the offer, but we don't have "extra" equipment for him to borrow and such, and we wouldn't want any of our guys to be without instruments. (We were some pretty laid back stoners )
He asks what our next song will be, I shrug, and the guitarist goes "Layla." As you can tell, we were on a Clapton kick at the time... it must've been something in the water, I swear!
The drunk guy goes "I know that one, mind if I borrow your guitar for just that song?"
"Sure as your name is Eric Clapton."
Guy nods, gets his wallet, and whips out his ID.
Now I'm sure there wasn't a relation because I'm vaguely sure this guy was mexican, but the guitarist ate his own hat on that one. What can I say, we were laid back.
