Arrow Not my gig, but weird drunk guy story

Everyone always tells these stories, and I've never seen it before... until now..

Last night I went out to see my friends' band. There was a medium sized crowd, but everyone seemed to be drinking and having a great time. The band before my friends' was rocking pretty hard, really solid 3 piece. This guy sitting not too far from us got up and sort of wandered towards the stage, at first looking like he was just getting up close to the band.

Then he wandered up on the stage and picked up the guitar (the singer/guitar player had sat down to play keys for a few songs). My friends and I are looking at each other trying to figure out if this guy is just super drunk or a friend of the band. It became quickly apparent he was just super drunk.

The band was totally professional throughout... although the bass player kept giving drunk guy looks like he was about to set down his bass and kick his butt. After the song, they took the guitar back from the guy and send him back to his friends.

Keep playing, sounding great. A few songs later drunk guy wanders back up to the stage. (We don't know why his friends weren't stopping him). He starts to pick up the guitar again. This time several of the other musicians in the audience all surrounded the guy. The band got to stopping point in the song, and the singer stopped and yelled at the guy (but he was still nice about it!). Finally one of drunk guy's friends came and got him, and escorted him out.

Really weird.... I was very impressed with how the band handled it though. As they say... the show must go on.

A solid argument for a "red" $100 decoy instrument for the drunks. I've seen similar and it was involving a friends band. I became the official band bouncer after that night.

I was playing at a gig once that had a balcony in the back of the room. Some drunk guy takes a header off the balcony and lands right on our sound board. We're figuring the guy is dead or has broken his neck or something...he gets up, brushes himself off and staggers out of the bar. Drunks do have guardian angels. Luckily there wasn't any damage to our sound board, so we just kept on jammin'. A typical night for a rock n' roll band.....

My band is working on recoving the footage. Some drunk chick was filming us and watching though the monitor, she ran to get a closer look and overshot alittle. like through me, the drums, and onto the back of the stage where was was knocked over/out. Its all on camera too, I cant wait to get it.

Drummer managed to get out of the way and kept the beat with me on the HH while the guitarist and singer put the drums back together.

That night my ME50B took a pint of beer right on it midset and kept going.
