Why is that? Playing a half step sharp is nothing to show off about. That's one of the problems with music today. Any wanker who can hold a guitar thinks they have something to sell. Go to an open mic or open jam and you'll see what I'm talking about. Phrases like "practice makes perfect" and "pay your dues" are lost on the new generation of instant rock star wannabes. Yeah, I'm in a pissy mood. So what.

We were all at that level at some point in time! Yeah he was a half step sharp, but who hasn't done that in their lifetime?? Sure, he was dumb enough to put it on YouTube but that's better than performing it live where his name is dirtied.

+1 for this

Some of us went through this stage before YouTube and had the luxury of being able to learn in shows at school and rubbish gigs that frankly everyone has forgotten about.

Ok so this guy has chosen to immortalise this very early stage in his musical development but I don't think people should rag on him for that.

IMO that's the musical equivalent of honking at a learner driver who has just stalled at the lights. Whether we remember it or not we have ALL started somewhere.

If he was shooting his mouth off about what an amazing player he was then ok fire away but he isn't. His Brown Eyed Girl vid shows some good improvement IMO and hopefully he'll carry on improving and love playing the instrument that we all love too.

At the end of the day it could be worse. He could be a guitarist. [/Preachy post]

Please, no-one search me on Youtube. I have a 2-year-old video where I play the wrong things in the wrong sections. And I´m not much better.
