NYE gig was a private party. Played till just after 4:00am. Got a bonus for playing an extra set.
How late did you play or how late do you usually play NYE? |

The club we played at had us stop at 12:30, actually ended up being closer to one because the drunks were still wanting to dance. But by 1, they had set up a big breakfast buffet for everyone. We ate for free (Biscuits & Gravy, Sausage, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Hash Brown Potatoes; this IS the South after all), then loaded out and were paid and home by about 2:15. Good times!

| | | | We played one set after the bells, so finished at about 1:30. Out of there, and home by 2:30.
Thats a late finish round here though, as for the rest of the year most places with bands call last orders at 12 (sometimes 11). The pub culture is still based around an 11pm last call, so even when the bars stay open later, people start going home from 11 most nights.
NYE: People started drifting away from the pub soon after 12 - either going home or to private parties. Thats just how it's done over here. The faithfull fans were still rocking at the end though - it was a pretty good night.

Got home at 6:00 am and slept until 1:00 pm ..... |

We still got paid the full amount and got a free bottle of champagne.

We had a hell of a fight break out on the floor though - massive Maori bouncers wading in to pull out a bunch of surfies & punks...
