I recently played a small 'shared set' gig for a charity event for a friend, and my band were on 4th of 6 acts, so we were on at around 10.
So, after we finish playing our half hour set, we are all packing our equipment up and sorting the stage for the next act, an 'older gentleman' walked up to me as I was sorting out leads, and says ''If I bought everybody in the band a drink, would you play another couple of songs?'' Now, I was a little flattered, and under any other circumstances, I would have said yes and got the rest of the band sorted out, but where it was a charity gig and we were pushed for time, I had to decline.
The reason this was odd, was that he looked about 60, and we had been doing mainly covers of bands ranging from Flyleaf and Good Charlotte, to Paramore and YouMeAtSix, so I was a little surprised that he had enjoyed the set enough to want more :P
However, after everybody had finished the set, I bought a round of drinks for the band as a well done, and got chatting to the girl on the bar, and when I told her about this guy, she wrinkled her nose a little and said that apparantly while she had been collecting glasses during the night, he had come over to her and said ''I like green toe-nails... They suit you'' and winked at her. To clarify, she had painted her toe-nails green :P
Anybody else had experiences with such 'surprises'?
