Ok, so at practice last night, my guitarist (who I played in my previous band, Amidst the Affliction, with) informed me that at the show that our new band (Calvary) is playing on Saturday, we're also doing a short ATA set with all of the members. ATA's drummer is playing in one of the other bands at this show on Saturday, our other guitarist is going to be in town for Spring Break, and our lead singer would be there for the show anyway.

So now I have to scrounge up my ATA CD and try to essentially re-learn the songs after not playing them for close to a year. And this isn't easy three-chord rock, it's some pretty technical melodic hardcore/metal with some ridiculously syncopated breakdown.

It actually went pretty well. We were all a little rusty on the ATA songs and our singer's voice was pretty out of shape, but it was really fun. We played through the breakdown of one of our songs and then played all the way through two more. The kids were dancing and even had a dogpile on one of our gang vocal parts, which was cool.
