ok...let me give you the situation i'm going to this sort of "Rock School" course which is supposed to teach us more about music and the music industry..well it didn't cause of some guy 60 year old guy with a mullet

first about my band it's a three piece bass guitar and drume with me and the guitarist being co-vocalists we play punk rock and i generally have a sharp inyour face tone but somehow still having subtle low end while my guitarist probly has the best tone in the world distorted yet you can hear every note clearly

anyways this paul mcartney wnnabe comes in literally turns the treble and mid off and cranks the bass and turns everything exept bass frequencies off on the graphic eq so my bass sounds like an obese man with irritable bowel syndrome then he turns makes my guitarist crank the dirtortion ruining the tone

meanwhile my guitarist is practically holding me back so i won't tell him EXACTLy wat i think of his adjustments

but he's not done yet he doesn't let us sing but instead puts two egotistic lead vocalists to take our place

i'm gonna tell him exactly wat i think tommorow but don't know if i should opinions imma 14

Sounds like this old guy has a particular idea about what he wants during the course, ok not you're thing, . . . . . So the three of you have it going on outside the course , then do that, you'll be happy out of there.

But , . . . . . . . . don't stuff it up for everyone on the course by making a scene, just go along with it and then be happy when it's over.

yeh the thing is i paid for the course it's not like i won a willy wonka ticket and it's supposed to make us better at working as a band not work as some egotistic vocalists "band" where we can be replaced in a heart beat at least in the band i'm in were all equals

Griffith?

Are you doing this course at Griffith University in Southport, Australia?

If so, I attended this course a while back, and the "mullet guy" you're talking about is Jose McLauchlin, a great and experienced Australian Jazz guitarist. After the time I spent with him, I doubt he'd just walk in and fiddle with your settings. He's helped me in many different ways, and not just in playing the instrument. He knows so much about the music world.

If it is Jose, go in with an open mind, and learn from his 40+ years of experience. In my time we also did a Pop song, but we molded it to be fun.
