About 15 years ago I sort of gave up music. I was studying, working, raising two kids, etc. However, about 10 years ago, a couple of guys I'd been in a band with before asked me to do this big outdoor gig. Some sportsman's club or something. I said yes.
Since it was an all-ages show, I brought the whole fam. For some reason I gave my son--surely under 10 years old at the time--a video camera. His camera work can only be described as "special." But when I looked at the footage a couple of years later, I salvaged this clip. It was the most stable piece he'd shot. I'm still surprised at the audio quality from a mic the size of a dime on a cheap DV camera held by a gradeschooler.
Anywho, it's the only audio evidence that I ever played music before. Since I'm getting back into it, I dug it up for a look. My reactions: we weren't too bad! And I looked so young. And thin.

Addendum: That bass and that rig were not mine. I'm sure I didn't even own any equipment by then. I believe they belonged to the guitarist. I didn't know him too well. I think he's a dentist now.
