Oldest pic of you playing bass....

Sign in to disble this ad
So what is the oldest image you have of yourself doing what we do? This one is on me circa 1976. Fender Mustang and a Peavey TNT 100 amp. Wish I still had that Fender

This was a practice session at my drummer's house. I was likely 16 years of age. Looking good in my bell bottoms and tux tshirt, lol.

Okay, I showed you mine, now let's see yours!!!

Taken 5-28-04; I played bass for a few years before that, but this was my first real gig as a bassist. Before 2003, I was a guitar player.

It's at mom's house but anyway, it's just like three months older than this one, taken around April, 1987:

I have older pics than this, but haven't gotten around to scanning them. This one is probably around 1975 or so.

Here's one from 1977:

I'm cheating here - it's my stepbrother on the bass, and I'm the singer! When I send this to friends and say "guess which one is me", they almost NEVER get it right.

1967-1968, not exactly sure what year this was ..... Not the oldest pic I have, but it's getting close. I need to dig up some of the shots from '62-'63 ....

This one is from 1977 I think .........

and another from 1988 with Muzzy, Joe Pesci & Frankie Vincent ....

You remind me of Ritchie Blackmore in that picture.

Us younger guys aren't chiming in because we'd feel inadequate by comparison.

Great thread, I've never been photographed playing bass. Let's keep it that way.

Unfortunately the oldest pic I have is from October 5 2003, but it shows my first bass (still have) and bass cabinet (lost in fire in 2004). The Acoustic 270 head is no longer in existence; it crapped out on me at an outdoor gig, so I spent the rest to the performance trashing it (throwing it onto the concrete, dropping heavy objects on it, beating it with pipes, grinding it with a Skilsaw....)
