I'm new to auditioning online, here are some tips that I've learned from my last audition. Playing Seven Seas of Rhye by Queen.

It's ok to record your audio and video separately and sync them up on your computer: I did not do this but I will in the future
If you use a DSLR for video watch out they have automatic gain controls for audio which will give you a major headache
Look at the camera and towards the camera. When you look away it looks like you are not paying the viewer any attention.
Annunciate when you speak. Get right to the bass playing, do not tell your life story, your playing will speak for itself.
I had a blast doing this audition check it out put on headphones or play through good speakers.
