Just as the heading says my AC/DC cover/tribute band is opening for Y&T in Chico, CA tonight. Looking forward to it as it is more "concert" oriented than a regular bar/club gig and at one of the larger venues in town. Load in and sound check in half an hour. Wish me luck.

Dave is a heck of a nice guy - I've talked to him a couple of times back when I worked music retail, and he was always a gentleman. Great guitar player and vocalist in my book. Who played bass for them, I know Phil died last year...?

Even after watching some videos. |

I saw them close to ten times back in the day...I saw them at a Halloween show when Alice Cooper opened up for them...also saw them in a small club in the South Bay Area, they played for about 3 hours and tore the roof off of the place. But that was back in the day when they still had the fastest single bass drum player in the world, Mr. Leonard Haze. They were more of a west coast deal, but they definitely did well on the East Coast too...

I thought Y&T and Tesla were two of the most underated bands of that era. Both their music I thought was way better than some of the hair metal that came out.
+1 on Barroom boogie.
Good luck and have fun. My brother graduated from Chico State in the early 90's. That town knows how to put down some beers.

Just my opinion. |

J! | Show was at the El Rey theater downtown. Old movie theater converted into a live venue. Show went very well. Hope it leads to more opening spots for national acts coming through town.
Have to admit that I too was unsure of who Y&T was before last night. Had heard of them but was unfamiliar with their music. They were amazing. True professionals and blew the doors off the place.

Great opportunity for the OP, though. Hope the night goes well and they really tear the place up. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
