Played a DJ's birthday party last night...

And had a great time. A local DJ I had never even met before (other than we liked each other's Facebook pages) booked us to open up for some other DJs that were playing a local bar for his birthday.

The sound guys were late in getting everything running, the crowd was rowdy, the paid security may as well have been mannequins, the stage sound was way far from perfect, and our stage area was a thoroughfare to the bathrooms...but we had a blast. We got our normal rate for playing about 90 minutes worth of music. The birthday boy also played guitar with us at the end of our set on "Shook Me All Night Long", while some random dude filled in for our drummer and a couple other guys sang backup...and it was a lot of fun.

Just goes to show that a performance doesn't have to be perfect to make a lot of people happy.

Sounds great. It's so customary to talk about DJs as our hated rivals around here, nice to hear about everyone getting along.
