Alot of bands out there have crazy little "rituals" that they go through before every Gig.
I just thought it would be cool to hear some of yours.
If this thread has been done a billion times before, I am sorry
just please ignore.
My former band used to always pound espresso or just some really strong coffee to give us a bit of a jolt. - oh yeah and we
would always play Our Metal anthem ACDC "We salute you" just before we went on. After the Show we also had some rituals, but I will not get into that...

Can't stop the pain train. Legal complications forbid me from saying more...

If I feel like I might be about to have an off night, I avoid sitting backstage or someplace where I can't see the audience if it's large. That's the only time I think I might get stagefright. Seeing the people at some point between empty venue and full house completely calms my nerves. |

I have a guitar player friend that paces slapping everyone on the back and repeating "we're gonna be great" over and over like a mantra, He thinks it works. Truth be told? He's a smokin' player and worked hard to be one, but what ever works eh? |

Nah... These days my bands just arrive, set up, and play. Sometimes depending on venue we'll eat, or have a drink.
Nothing too cool or special.

I like the stretching, deep breathing, wash hands one. I also feel like I can't play if I don't wash my hands. I dunno, they just feel gross, sticky and heavy.

| | | | We are a trio, just before the begginning, the three of us begin to sing some lame chorus of a song of a local band that seems to have "made it" according to the yahoos that measure "success" in the national band scene, as soon as we finish the chorus we´re ready to kick some arse...

I'll normally have a cigarette before the show, and run around a little to get my blood pumping. That's about it
