Heres a random one.
Got asked at the jam session I regularly attended if me and one of the drummers would come down to try a jam with a band that has no rhythm section at the moment. I thought why the hell not, its lal good experience.
So the chap texts me, we've arranged a jam tomorrow, I asked him what sort of music to expect, and he says "Psych Folk and proggy stuff"
What should I expect?! I have no idea what that genre involves . . . I'm guessing a bunch of stoned hippies? I have no idea!
Give us some hints people!

(ps , I will still go see how it pans out, but a bit of background knowledge may help!)

Ha! I designated my band's sounds as "Psychedelic Folk Pop Rock"

Its rooted in pop structure, with extra little passages thrown in between parts like choruses & verses. Pre Chorus 1 will sound nothing like Prechorus 2. In that vein, its a little proggy. The general feel of the music is Psychedelic utilizing cool, trippy effects. To me, most of the music has a subtle folk vibe.

I love it because while the music is not exactly mainstream stuff, I feel it still has wide commercial appeal. Doing something different, but not so different that its unappealing to the masses. So far, things have been going good.

Listen to the track on our reverbnation page title 'Let You In'. This is an acoustic version, but might give you a little feel for it.

I think this is the sound of the stuff floating around in my head most days.
Give it a go. It sounds trippy

Trippin' folk music, huh? Far out, I'd give it a go.
