A question for the ages...
The Precision bass got it's name from the fact that it is fretted, making "precise" fingering of the notes.
A fretless precision is a contradiction?
(Be aware that I posted this in humor for a reason.)
So.. what is the question?

I don't think there is a market for an "imprecision" bass :P
Besides..fretless split-coil bass doesn't roll off the tongue.
I would buy an imprecision bass. Actually, I have a bunch of 'em already.
No ... "Precision bass" is just a name. From what I've heard around these parts, playing on a Precision bass (fretted or no) doesn't automatically make the owner play with precision.
