First time it's rained in weeks and of course it's a night we have an outdoor gig. It's cancelled there's no real roof and no one to play to. Oh well things could be worse I suppose.

It could be worse. You could be up here in Seattle where it never stops raining.

Or in Amarillo where it never rains

I'm from Seattle area, and have lived here just over a year. I miss the rain and I miss home.

Yeppers...it could be worse. It could have waited until you had all your gear set up under the open sky and you were in mid set before it started raining.

In Florida, multiple counties are already banning fireworks for the 4th because of the dry conditions and current wild fires. I'd eagerly lose a gig for some sustained rain.

Last week week had two outside gigs one was perfect weather, the other started that way during soundcheck. As soon as the people started showing up for the friday night town show here came the downpour thru our whole set. We played to about 15 people who stayed mostly in their cars listening and honking their horns in their cars intead of clapping which was a first. We played an hour got payed and left..all wet. It was the first gig in this band in our 3 years that we had rain and we do 6-7 outdoor shows a year...not bad.

Yeah... we have had an abnormally cool and extremely wet spring up in these parts. The lakes are full-up, there's water standing in places I've never seen it before and pretty much every river in the state is at or above flood stage and has been for awhile.

We're supposed to play our first two outdoor gigs of the year this weekend and it's been raining all week with slight chances of rain/storms all through the weekend, so I'm a bit apprehensive. Even if it doesn't rain the temps are still gonna be pretty cool (low 60s at showtime and dropping from there). You'd think end of June in these parts would be a pretty safe bet to book outdoor gigs, but this year not so much.

Too much rain is a pain. Last month I went to a benefit show here in Ohio for flood victims. The very first song by the very first band was............."When will it Rain" by Jackel.
The booing was loud and often. I had to laugh at the irony
I really wanted to ask the band guys if it was a goof or what. They were good though.
I told the Little Woman if "Rain drops Keep Falling on my Head" gets played, we were out of there. It never happened, thankfully.

Wow... just wow. Talk about not knowing your audience.

Maybe that band thought they were being funny but that's pretty much a fail all around IMO.

I'll be playing "New Orleans is Sinking" this Saturday. Not to long ago it was off the set list because of Katrina.

In the last two years I had 8 outdoor gigs. We were rained on 7 times. So far this year we moved the one outdoor event inside because of rain. We are playing a festival this Saturday and the forcast is calling for 20% chance of rain.

Rain is bad enough... but in this part of the country we have already had a banner year (in a bad way) for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. There have been more of them, doing more damage and starting sooner in the spring than any year I can remember up here. That's what's really got me nervous with a bunch of outdoor gigs on the books the next couple of months.

But not to north texas DFW area ... we have got just enough rain ... more would be a waste... send it down south to the hill country!

I'm in Brownsville and the gig was out on South Padre. Only the second time I've seen it rain here in 6 months.

I grew up in South Florida so trust me I've seen my share of rain.

Arizona could use some rain too, sounds like. Lots of it.
