Those aren't just instruments, they're investments. Good/bad, that's for the experts to decide.

That latter 58 P is one of the best looking Fenders I've ever seen BTW.

The J Bass is nice, but that P Bass makes me want to cry. It doesn't even look playable to me.

Compared to what?

Just like old cars and antique furniture, certain people value the originality and are willing to pay.

The bass is basically NOS and probably one of the best examples of that year, which is rare.

I've seen 1966 Jazz Basses (white/tort) in excellent condition valued at $12k.

Adjusted for inflation since 1966, it really doesn't cost that much.

$9000 for that bass is real fair. It appears to be in great shape.
I'd run it past a expert in Jazz basses at that price but thats not out of line.

I recognize this dude, didn't he post a few days that this bass belonged to one of his firend's father who had bought it for his bassist (said bassist didn't like slab so he never touched it?).
