So, my buddy calls me up to play a gig at the last minute. He says "dress laid back and bring your ABG". So, I show up at the venue, and it was just like walking into the movie "A Mighty Wind"! I never saw so much male pattern baldness and neatly trimmed grey beards in my life! On my right was a guy who looked like Pete Seeger, on my left was the spitting image of Peter Yarrow, and it looked like "The Folksmen" were on the stage. I couldn't share any of the jokes going through my head with anyone because they were all part of the scene. Let's just say that I felt too "electrified" with my Michael Kelly.
Anyway, I had a great time, and the audience was wonderful. We played some serious bluegrass and originals that fit. I think I might do this again! |
