I brought in my fretless Jack Casady to school to use with the ensemble and another bass player asked me what I'd payed for it. I told him(I didn't overpay BTW) and he laughed and said "You paid that much for that POS? It's the same as my Ibanez except mine was only $120." No, it's not the same. His Ibanez is a GSR, P+J pickups, fretted, solidbody, and has poor electronics. I explained the whole hollowbody, low impedance humbucker, passive, fretless, better quality control thing and he still just acted like a douche about it. I can see him maybe not liking it, but to call it a POS is just stupid and rude.

I told him he'd be better off saving his money up and buying a more expensive upright than buying one off of eBay and he got defensive.
