ok well, with all the negativity going on around this sub forum, i thought i would bring in some light. this may not even belong here, but i thought i would share anyway.

a friend of mine just got back from a jazz camp for a week out of town. last night he shows up, hey wanna have a bon fire tonight? yeah ok. so we get some wood, and some paper, and we make a killer fire. like really hot, and it burned really long. so, after we got the fire going, we just kinda sat around and talked about music. hes a bassist as well, and he learned so much at this camp, and he shared it all with me. we just sat, for like 3 hours and talked about theory, and technique, and just awsome bass related stuff in general. it was really cool to be able to do this, and not be interupted, or talk about anything else.
just thought i might share.

I have conversations like that with my drummer all the time. It's really great. Playing different instruments and really talking about our individual points of view even specifically between the two of us and any people we may be playing with.

Of course his wife gets pretty annoyed when this lasts for hours and hours... but it's worth it
