Recently I receiver my Spector Legend Custom 5 bass nad I really treasure it and would get really mad if it was stolen.
So today I'm walking to my work and had this funny thought in my head. Have any you ever found yourselves in the situation where youre house was robbed, while your were lucky enough to be on a tour or a gig and your bass/basses and gear weren't stolen because of that?

My husband was worried about his grandfather's gold watch, which was stolen, and my kid was worried about his teddy bear (which wasn't), and all I could feel was relief to see the guitar still standing there. It would have been so easy to sell, but our lovely robber was only interested in cash and gold. |

I still picture one of the burglars asking the other(s), "Hey should I grab these basses?" Only to be followed with a "Nah, leave them. They're just basses." |

The burglar had entered the compartment by screwing off the hinges. Then he stole all the booze left over from our wedding, which figures. What surprised me however, was that my 20 year old Carlsbro bass combo was missing too. "How can you convert something like that into money?" I thought.
Well, I didn't have to search long for it, found it in the laundry room. I guess the burglar had screwed the hinges back on again, then realized he forgot to put the combo back in place and then just hid it instead.
EDIT: To add a little background information, a bottle of booze costs about $40 in Norway, so when the burglar saw 10-15 bottles through the crack in the door I guess that was too tempting....

| | My favorite songs were never heard on the radio | | Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Tulsa, OK | | An apartment I was living in was burglarized while I was at work some years ago. They took some CD, some VHS movies, some jewelry (didn't have any expensive pieces at the time), and a pair of shoes and shorts (??). Luckily my bass, acoustic, classical, and synth/workstation were still there. I guess they didn't think they could unload them. Either that or they couldn't carry them since they'd already hit two of my neighbors before me apparently. I'm also lucky I had a cheap 20-inch TV at the time, so that stayed too. Probably some kids looking for quick-sells and cash, because the place was pretty trashed.
Needless to say I moved the next week. |

We found my car the next day. It had no gas and the radio pre-sets/seat positions were changed but that was it |

They took everything that was music related. 3 basses, A wireless system and my Amp. One bass survived that just happened to be under the bed. I ended up quitting for about 15 years and just started back playing a couple of months ago.

In this video is one of the basses that were taken I don't even think I owned it 6 months. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfHbdMCtlqA |
