one of my professors is the sound man for blue oyster cult, so last night he put me and my buddy on the guest list for there show.

afterwards we went backstage and got to meet the band.

now..the show was kind of boring to be honest. theres 2 original members performing in the band, not that i could tell anyway. I wasnt feeling the show, but it was still cool.

so we were sitting in the dressing room and someone introduced us to the bass player, Rudy Sarzo. For the first half of the show me and everyone around me thought he was a woman. not kidding

but afterwards we were talking, about how he plays a peavey
andddd what number of strings is right for what musicc and whatnot. someone mentioned that he played another show last night(the night before the show) and he was sick. so i was like what other band are you in? and he casually goes " oh, Dio." in this soft voice. i thought that was awesome.

so now i looked him up, and it was a pretty cool experience all and all. we even got offered acid from a guy looking for tickets.

sorry if i offended any sarzo fans in the making of this post. for what its worth he played pretty well but stood out like a sore thumb in the band in terms of his look and stage presence.

I saw BOC last summer. From what I recall, the bassist had the perpetually stonned look I thought only Keith Richards had.

Rudy Sarzo has been in some of the biggest bands ever. Ozzy, Quiet Riot,Whitesnake, and Dio. Just the fact that he was in Whitesnake and Quiet Riot when they were huge makes him a legend in my book.
