Saturday Night Jam

I went to a Party/Drum Circle Jam this past Saturday night. When I got there they had a nice fire going and about 5 or 6 people around it drumming, with a total of about 25-30 people. I brought out my gear and just started jammin' with the drums. I guess we played about a half hour or so. We stopped to take a little break, and everyone started applauding. Then one of the drummers walked up next to me and said "That's for you Man".

I know in my eyes there had to be a look of "No Way". But then people were walking up to me saying things like "Dude, that was awesome", and asking for more. This has NEVER happened to me before. I guess I'm starting to get the hang of this. Pretty cool stuff, Man!

Thumbs up man, nice way to go. Always fun when someone tells you that you're essential to the groove. Same thing happened to me when I couldn't make it to a bandpractice. Next time the guitarist told me that they had quit trying after 30mins because it sounded like crap without the bass.

Nice job dude. Congratulations to you. I hope I may one day have a similar situation of being appreciated for my skill.
Makes me happy to read of another bassist getting praise like you got.

Congratulations, man!

Similar thing happened to me about a week ago. I was in a 10h jam session and jamming with a drummer with who'm I had never jammed before. The guitarist is my old friend and bandmate but I saw the drummer for like the second time of my life. We jammed for about 15-20min. Ended it and I went out for a cigarette. I had just taken my lighter out when suddenly the drummer jumped on me from behind shouting that it was awesome...
Man, I gotta say, it felt really good, especially considering that he's been playing for 8years (4 for me).
