Groovy. Wonder if any older TB members will find themselves in one of these photos.

Nice. Wish there was some info or at least snarky comments to go along with the pics.

Cool site

My own backyard has a similar site in the same vein, although the time frame is not limited to the 70's
Trenton Makes Music

Just one small sample:

Duke Williams and the Extremes

BTW, Haven't heard anything about Duke Williams (far right) in ages, but Paul Plumeri (far left) is still around and gigging regularly - he looks a lot more like Jerry Garcia now

There were almost no women in those bands.

I just thought you should know that that image is burned permanantly in my mind. Every time I close my eyes, it's there. And I'm scarred for life.

Ah, the 70s...

Part of that has to do with the hair and the clothes (no doubt most of those dudes thought themselves quite handsome). The other part is that, after MTV, you generally needed to be pretty to get a shot at a wider audience, although with enough promotion an ugly band could still score a pop hit (Genesis had several in the mid-80s, but they were an already-established act). All-in-all, the popularity of MTV made music a visual medium first and an audio medium second.

Wow. Frightening and amusing. Gives "What Duck Done" a whole new meaning. Note to self: Congratulations on your long standing rule of refusing to pose for a "bio shot".

I've got an appropriate name for this band:

Handy and The Servicemen.
