share a set list

I would love some new ideas for the cover band, and thought we could share some set lists.

We did a gig Friday and Saturday, same set list both nights and here it is:

set 1

1. Is this love - Bob Marley
2. Monkey See Monkey Do - Michael Franks
3. I can’t dance - Genesis
4. Use Me - Bill Withers
5. I don’t need no doctor - Ray Charles/John Mayer
6. Rikki don’t loose that # - Steely Dan

7. Nothin’ about me - Sting
8. Stitched up - John Mayer/Herbie Hancock

9. Need you tonight - INXS

set 2

1. Play that funky music - Wild Cherry

2. If you love somebody - Sting

3. Ashes to ashes - David Bowie

4. Bothers in arms - Dire Straits

5. Down so long - Sting
6. Brick House - The Commodores
7. I will remember - ToTo
8. Dirty Laundry - Don Henley
9. Lovely Day - Bill Withers

set 3

1. Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel
2. It’s about the $ bill - Johnny G. Watson
3. Love Games - Level 42
4. It’s only love - Simply Red/Barry White
5. Desperado - The Eagles
6. I wish - Stevie Wonder
7. Future love paradise - Seal
8. Georgy Porgy - ToTo
9. New York minute - Don Henley

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10. Come together - The Beatles

Nothing too fancy, but we are just a cover band after all. Feel free to share yours, perhaps I can suggest something radical to the other guys in the band.

I think so. We are fixing to drop Sex Type Thing because the singer/guitarist has a hard time with it. I have been trying to get him to buckle down and work on Plush (mainly because I LOVE playing that song) and he has finally told me that if I get rid of Sex Type Thing, he'll get Plush down. I told him "AFTER we got Plush down, I'll drop Sex Type Thing".

Yeah we have to do it early in the set. Its a really tough song. For a while we only played up to the middle section. Many rehearsals later we have the whole song tight.

How long are these 4 set gigs? I would be so spent doing a 30 + song set list. What length breaks in between? Are these club gigs? Sorry for all the questions.
