Other bands have known me as "Crow." This is partly because I think they're very interesting birds...and partly because I apparently look a bit like one.

For whatever reason, the BL called me Paul by mistake after the second or third audition. Although the other members got on his case, he continued to call me Paul during subsequent rehearsals. He just got it stuck in his head that my name was Paul. He felt bad about it, but just couldn't get it right.
Finally, I pointed out to them that Paul happens to be my middle name, and said let's just go with it. It soon morphed into PaulE.

On a trip to NC earlier this year, one of our singers went to use the porta-potty. When he returned, it was obvious he had a "malfunction". His nick-name is "Double Dribble".
Our other backup singer wears chrome aviator sunglasses and a ball cap (but he's black) so we call him "Brother Trucker" cuz he looks like a truck driver.
When our rhythm guitarist joined our band, a week later we played our first outdoor shot with him. A 'local' (who was a few bricks short of a full pallet) decided that he was his greatest fan and went by the name "Cowboy". "Cowboy loves ya, baby!" he would exclaim, and gave him a big hug. Now that's his name.
Our lead guitarist is Philipino; since he looks somewhat Asian and rips out some awesome leads we call him "Hot Wok". He says, "Hear me sizzle..."
Our drummer goes through a lot of sticks so we call him "Wood-chuck".
Said drummer likes my playing style so he calls me "Ace" - of bass, that is.
Our lead singer and BL we call "Captain Rock".
Hope you enjoyed that, we all sure did...

I think I was playing some of the leads from Hanger 18 or Malmstein's Far Beyond the Sun or something equally notey like that and I hear an unfamiliar voice "Whoa whoa whoa guitarzan! Slow down. You're speeding!" My buddy thought it was hilarious and the guys at the shop started calling me that for a little bit as well. It wasn't until later that I discovered where that name actually came from.

| | | | Two nicknames here. The first being Mr. Snuffy which is a long, long story from the beginning of high school.
The other is something a bit more recent. Can't remember what exactly brought it on but a friend that I jam with, who is religious, started calling me Jon the Bassist. It kinda just caught on. Now all of his friends know me a Jon the Bassist and it's slowly spreading farther.=-) |

Actually, it came long before I played bass. As a kid I used to tap my foot or stomp my leg lots of times when I was bored. Kind of a way to let out energy. My father actually picked it out. When I started playing bass it just seemed to fit. So, to this day, I'm known as Thumper and it's how most of my bandmates have referred to me over the years.
On Bandmix my name is CountryThumper. I don't mind it. But if you show up at one of my shows and ask for Thumper, the fingers will point to me.

| | Psst. It's "Squier" | | Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: Philly suburbs | | | Dudebrah/Dudebro.
My last name is Dudo (like Dude-o) an at my last job we started adding "-bro" to any word that had a hard "O" sound in it. Broseidon, Brotato, Dudebro...etc and it eventually turned into us yelling "sup bro/brah" across our warehouse and gradually Dudebro turned to Dudebrah and it stuck.
At my current job, I get called "Deuce" because I'm second generation at the company, and also "d1ckhead" because after 22 hours of snow plowing, I called a PennDOT inspector that after he told me I wasn't allowed to take a break.

When I was a kid my parents called me Duck. They claim it was the first word I said.
I guess I was born to be a bass player
At work I'm Wookie which transformed into Wookster because I'm a long-haired freak working among "Dilbert" looking types.
In the band I'm Pappy LaGouch because I wear those beret-style drivers caps. The guitar player when he was a kid knew some old guy that wore them.

I got that nickname a few bands ago because the other guys noticed that I always seemed to be sandwiched between my gf at the time and one of her other girlfriends. She was bi and so were most of her friends and we had an open relationship. Threesome city. Good times indeed.
Not with her anymore so the nickname has sort of faded away but it was one I was proud to have.
