" SIGH " stories :(

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently brought my girlfriend to my house :/ I'm very secretive of where I stay . When she came in my room immediately said " wow you play guitar???? Why does yours only have 4 strings ??? " ( yes I pick the best ones :/ so I started showing of . ( I don't get to do it to often) and she closed her ears and said shouldn't bass be in the background ??? I was playing mr pink but a little differently ... It was nice and well played I know. Should I feel embarrassed to show of on the bass... any of you have similar experiences ?

Crank your amp and let her sit on it. She'll change her tune...

Ditch her.

If she doesn't appreciate your love of the bass now she'll be questioning every little thing about it as time goes on. Find someone that knows the ways of the bass and how it benefits them, if you know what I'm saying.

I guess it depends..

If you were playing something that was recognizeable(To the layperson)..and doing it well, and at a reasonable volume..then its fine.

If you try to impress a chick by cranking up the volume, stepping on all 12 of your new distortion pedals (at the same time), and just wailing on the bass with a pick or whathave you."You can't tell?...its Blink 182..but with distortion".. then, that could explain the covering of ears thing....

JMO?....

But rarely will you impress a girl with your mad bass skills, so don't take it too hard.

She must be a real fox. I mean, who would date a woman that stupid who wasn't a knockout. You don't need to post a pic, we'll just let our imaginations do the work.

She sounds just about perfect. My ideal girlfriend would be smart enough not to get pregnant, but too dumb to remember where I live. I think you got yourself a keeper there!

Yep, it's kinda hard to find that perfect balance.

I wouldn't ditch her. I take it as an opportunity to educate her on the awesomeness of the Bass.

and if all else fails...

Do what several others have mentioned and have her sit on your speaker cab and play.

When she covered her ears and said what you quoted.....are you sure it didnt sound more like this...

" Like, isnt the bass thingy like, supposed to like, be in the background? Yeah...thats totally where it goes....like fer sure......uhhh....gawd. "

Violate her and dont call her back.

Some chicks just have it for bass players. No matter how cool and hot the guitarist is and how talented (show off ect..)....they dont care....they go right for the bass player. Get yourself one of those.

Amen to that! I met my lady as i was walking off stage one night! 7 years later and it's all good!

To the OP.... you messed up by showing her where you live. Everyone knows there's no such thing as fight club..

Thankfully I cannot say I've ever had that issue with the girls I've dated... They've all been fond of vivid bass lines in songs... And I never even made that a suitability-for-dating criteria...
